Richard Kodzis has been practicing law in Maryland for over twelve years. He graduated from Miami University in Ohio and was then commissioned in the U.S. Navy where he served for over twenty years in several ships and stations in Japan, Hawaii, Washington, California, Maryland and the District of Columbia, first as an unrestricted line officer and then as a cryptologic officer. Since retiring from the Navy he was an Assistant State's Attorney in Baltimore City where he prosecuted a wide range of criminal and traffic cases and opened his own office in June 1996. The practice is dedicated in to the defense of those charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Driving While Impaired (DWI), serious traffic offenses, and all criminal charges.  As a retired officer, Mr. Kodzis is sensitive to the sometimes unique problems that can face both active duty and retired members of the armed forces and their dependants.

Mr. Kodzis is admitted to practice in all state courts in Maryland as well as the Federal District Court for the District of Maryland. Mr. Kodzis is a member of the Maryland State and Anne Arundel County Bar Associations.  Additionally, he is a member of the National College for DUI Defense, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys' Association, the Military Officers Association of America, the Fleet Reserve Association, the Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association and is a former board member of the Paca-Brent Joint Inn of Court.
